Eagles Coach, Officials Storm Fairmont Zimbali Lodge Camp. Amodu, Ogunjobi Inspect Base Camp For 2010 W/Cup

Technical Committee head of the Nigeria Football Federations (NFF) Taiwo Ogunjobi led Super Eagles coach, Shuaibu Amodu, the team’s media officer and one-time goalkeeper of the national team, Peterside Idah and his counterpart in the NFF, Robinson Okosun on Tuesday to inspect the Fairmont Zimbali Lodge in Durban which will serve as the base camp of the Nigerian side during the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

The inspecting officials and Eagles gaffer left their current base, the Riverside Hotel immediately after the morning training and unanimously accepted the standard of the hotel approved by FIFA for the team.

Fairmont Zimbali Lodge is an imposing edifice set within the serene confines of a coastal forest. The Fairmont Zimbali’s proximity to the Riverside Hotel and Spa is just about 20 minutes drive and seven minutes away from the new airport in Durban which will be commissioned in April 2010.

The original Fairmont Hotel was the vision of San Francisco natives, Tessie and Virginia Fair. In 1907, after a one-year delay due to damage from the San Fracisco earthquake, the Fairmont opened its doors for the first time.

The NFF chiefs also inspected the proposed training pitch which the Super Eagles will use during the June 11-July 11, 2010 finals in South Africa.
